24.03.2023 2 Minutes

With the current version of IngSoft EasyPipe we provide our users and demo customers with the updates around the calculation modules to the regulations:

  • ATV-DVWK-A 127 (Trench)
  • DWA-A 143-2 (Liner)
  • DWA-M 127-4 (Manhole) and
  • DWA-A 161 (Jacking), especially: HDD, see below

As a licensee you will receive detailed information by e-mail and at any time via the version history (menu: ? Help) in IngSoft EasyPipe.

We thank our users for critical questions and suggestions for improvement!

Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD, Horizontal Directional Drilling) in IngSoft EasyPipe Version 2.11

With this version we extend the calculation module for the worksheet DWA-A 161 / DVGW GW 312 by the construction condition for horizontal directional drilling. We have added the following verifications for the product pipe:

  1. Consideration of the axial tensile strength of the pipe material (in contrast to the 'mining' methods, where the compressive strength in the longitudinal direction is decisive).
  2. Approximate determination of the tensile force during installation according to the technical guideline of the DCA (Verband Güteschutz Horizontalbohrungen e.V.)
  3. Calculation of the bending moment in axial direction from curvature of the route
  4. Superposition and verification of the stresses in the longitudinal direction from normal force and bending in the state of construction

For this purpose, the designs are omitted for

  • The Pressure Transfer Ring (PTR) and
  • The axial buckling

Our users can find the corresponding settings in the software in the nodes:

  • Tunnelling method --> Method: HDD
  • Node HDD (new, if previously selected as method): Drilling length and Factor f for friction as well as
  • Route and jacking force --> Course of the jacking route --> Planned radius of curvature: Smallest radius in the system (for HDD often the vertical radius).

Please note that this is our first release on HDD (BETA stage). Additions will follow. We are looking forward to hints and discussion.
