Our foreword (abstract), English:
DWA-A 143-2 Static Calculation for the Rehabilitation of Drains and Sewers
As an alternative to replacing existing pipelines, various renovation procedures offer significant advantages with respect to investment costs, environmental protection, and urban pollution. Depending on the procedure, it may well be possible to extend the service life, to match that of a replacement. A thorough study of the current stability and residual load capacity of the existing sewer is required, along with needs-based selection and dimensioning of the rehabilitation procedure. The German standard DWA-A 143-2 serves as a good basis for the necessary static calculations.
Increasingly European companies are conducting structural calculations of liners according to the DWA-A 143-2 standard. Since the English translation is still in progress, non-German speaking engineer encounter difficulties at understanding the basics of the standard.
In this presentation, we will explain closer the important topics considered in the standard:
- Structural calculation of buried pipes
- Soil-Pipe-System
- Imperfections with the bedding of the liner in the host (old) pipe
- Host pipe conditions I – II – III – IIIa
- Eccentricity
- General design form
- Verifications
- Stresses
- Deformations
- Soil limit stress
- Shear stress proof
- Interaction – earth and traffic loads with groundwater
- Fatigue (dynamic proof)
- Software solution for the structural calculation of liners
- Special profiles and FEA (Finite Element Analysis)
